Over the last year, I faced a series of personal setbacks and obstacles that left me questioning my purpose. Through tons of self-discovery and long periods of introspection, I realized what occurred.
As I reshuffled the deck of cards we call life and began to draw my new hand, I knew I had to get back to my roots, unearthing the stuff that makes me who I am.
I’m no genius, nor am I a prodigy of any sort, but I’ve always had this voice in my head that’s told me to keep striving - to keep learning and expanding my horizon. Maybe it’s because I grew up as the son of immigrant factory workers and I was looking for my way out. Or perhaps it was being an only child, and craving personal connection with others, that ended up lighting this fire in me. Either way, that voice has gotten me to take risks, talk to strangers, learn from the wisdom around me, and get into many situations that I had no right being in (mostly good situations). It’s the voice of “what if?” or “what can I learn from this?” and “how can this make me better?” - I always took the chance to put myself out there and give it a shot, due to an insane level of curiosity, drive, and gumption.
This habit led me down the path of acquiring many different skills and bodies of knowledge. I created this person with a diverse set of experiences, skills, and characteristics that all came together to get the job done, whatever the job was.
I became a man with Range and that is when I discovered this trait was my leverage. In a world of specialists, I stand out by being the “Jack of all trades” (no pun intended), the conductor of the orchestra, and the facilitator.
People with Range get things done. They have this innate ability to see all the pieces of the puzzle in their minds and re-arrange them to solve whatever problem they choose to tackle. They know how to motivate, identify talent, build things, and persevere. I realized that I was not alone - it turns out that many of my mentors, friends, and role models had this ability. This story and brand is my ode to them, including the ones who came before, and all the ones to come next.
In a period of darkness, I chose to see light. I am putting my heart and soul into Range Vineyard - It will be my legacy, my life’s work.
& my goal is to share it with you soon.
Cheers,
Jack
